Becki blogs over at Fighting for Wellness about nutrition, fitness, and mental health and how they each contribute to overall wellness. Overweight as a child and teen, Becki hit an all-time high in senior year of college at 240 pounds. With a history of depression and anxiety, but a love for being active and outdoors, Becki decided to start running to see if it would help her feel better. After buying her first pair of running shoes, she slowly ran her first mile. Within a few months she ran her very first 5K and became hooked on running and all things fitness. An Ultimate Bootcamp class in Boston taught her just how strong she had become and showed her just how much happier she was being healthy. This made her realize she wanted to dedicate her life to fitness and health while also integrating her passion for mental health counseling. Now 90 lbs. lighter than her highest weight, Becki hopes to inspire others to move out of their comfort zones and embrace the change that is so often necessary for healthy living, in mind, body, and spirit.
