Jennifer Palilla

Healthy living is all about balance. It's always changing and involves every aspect of your life. It is mind, body and soul.
Jenn is a 20-something daughter, wife, sister, friend, dancer, nerd, runner, media planner, shopaholic, baker, gymrat and sporty girl. She lives on Long Island, NY, where she spends her days doing one of the above, and writing on her blog, Fit Appétit. Being “sporty” didn’t come easy to Jenn. She had spent most of her life as the “Chubby Red-Head”, until the age of 18 when doctors replaced the word “overweight” with “obese”. It was then that she began her journey towards a healthy and fit lifestyle. She replaced cupcakes with nuts and veggies, and the television remote with a set of hand-weights and a jump rope. Today, it is her honest belief that health and fitness do not come in the form of a diet, or paid in rent at the gym. It is achieved through happiness, balance, and treating yourself right; mind, body and soul. Since her transformation, Jenn has become AFAA certified in group fitness, and is currently working towards achieving her certification in personal training. She ran her first 5k in June 2012 and can’t wait to run the NYC Marathon one year. “There are no shortcuts to any place worth going”
