Living and sharing a life of healthy food, fitness and fun!
Michelle is a 43 year old Mom, a full-time student, pursuing a degree as a Dietetic Technician, Registered. Her ultimate goal is to get her Master of Public Health - Health Promotion. She plans to add that to her BS in Psychology and work in the world of sports nutrition. Michelle admits that she was never 'sporty' and somehow avoided running, even while in the Navy! But now, she is fully committed to a healthy lifestyle. It took her several years to realize the importance of living a healthful life but now she can not imagine living any other way. As a parent, it is so important to lead by example. This nation is bringing a generation of sedentary kids into the world, and that is leading to obesity, an increase in childhood diabetes and just a generally unhealthy group of young people. Michelle is proud to be a Lacrosse Mom and does her best to keep healthy foods on her sons plate. By far, one of the best aspects of this new lifestyle is running. She began running in May 2012, and couldn't even run for a full minute. Now, she has five 5k's behind her, and has several more on the calendar. Something else that is totally new-lifting weights and loving the results! She'll try anything that keeps her moving (aside from jumping off things!) Michelle's love of all things kitchen has added one of her favorite elements to her new lifestyle...creating new and/or healthier recipes! Michelle has battled eating disorders and now is faced with several food allergies. A healthful life has made a huge impact on her, both mentally, physically and emotionally. Anyone can create a better tomorrow... One mile at a time, One meal at a time, One day at a time!
