Small screen fitness: Hottest TV actresses and actors

Rock hard bodies that rock the small screen

Lindzi Cox The Bar Method

Ever wonder how to get that primetime look? Well, you might want to get off the couch for this one because here’s a list of small screen stars with hot, fit and healthy bods. The abs and assets on the hottest TV actresses and actors come at a price -- lots of trips to the gym! Use this list as a little healthy inspiration.

Drama queens

Jennifer MorrisonEmmy Rossum Lucy Liu

Cutie with a bootie

Whether kicking fairy tale ass in that red leather jacket or saving lives in her former position next to Dr.House, Jennifer Morrison makes being a hero look good. It takes more than a stroll through Story Brook to own a pair of jeans and Jennifer does all the right stuff to make that happen. Morrison swears by running and yoga to keep her legs looking lean.

‘Shameless’-ly toned

Emmy Rossum is no stranger to side boob or partial crack or really any inappropriate angle as her low-income character Fiona in the Showtime hit, Shameless. She welcomes the sex scenes almost as much as she welcomes scenes without bras. No ordinary person could make something so… risqué… seem as natural as she does, but it takes a lot of body confidence to strip down so often. Group exercise classes like dance and spin help keep her motivated and ready to take off her clothes.

Kick-ass abs

Hey Sherlock, it doesn’t take re-watching Charlie’s Angels to remember how fit actress Lucy Liu is. If you need some more convincing though, check her out at Watson in the new CBS series, Elementary. She makes being brainy and beautiful seem like it’s natural, but even Liu has to work for her abs. She regularly turns to trainers and martial arts experts to keep her physique toned and ready for the action scenes.

Drama kings

Gilles MariniEric DaneWilson Bethel

Man of steel

Now if you don’t know him from Brothers and Sisters or his current stint on the ABC Family drama, Switched at Birth, then maybe you recognize Gilles Marini as the sexy French competitor on Dancing with the Stars a few years back. Either way you should recognize his face as being Samantha’s new neighbor in the first Sex and the City movie. That ring a bell? We thought so. The man is fit in all the right places, which makes him fit for all these roles. A good combination of gym time, soccer and mixed martial arts helps keep him in shape.

McSteamin’ up your TV

Ever since Eric Dane made his scandalous appearance as plastic surgeon Mark Sloan on Grey’s Anatomy, Seattle Grace has never been the same. Though his fate right now, after that nasty airplane crash, has left us biting our finger nails, we’re still remembering those steamy shower scenes the writers just love to put him in. Maybe it’s those pull ups his character does but every time he puts on a skin tight shirt our eyes go straight to his massive biceps.

Abs-olutely charming

The CW's Hart of Dixie almost didn't get renewed, but we think its renewal had at least something to do with Wilson Bethel's abs. His southern charm as Wade Kinsella heats up the screen, in no small part due to his frequent shirtless scenes. It takes a lot of work to keep abs that rock-hard, so you can be sure he eats clean and trains mean.

Comedic hotties

Damon Wayans Jr. Lea MicheleSofia Vergara

Happy rear-endings

Happy Endings just wouldn't be the same without Damon Wayans Jr. playing the happily married Brad. The fact is, his comedic genius is just part of the draw -- his rock hard rear end plays a part, too. Frankly, we still miss him as Zooey Deschanel's personal-training, bike-shorts-wearing roomie in New Girl, a role he played for the pilot episode

Gleefully fit

Glee's main character Rachel Berry loves those mini skirts and high socks. I believe it was Kurt Hummel who coined it as saying she dressed like a pre-schooler and eighty year old at the same time. Now, to pull of those tiny outfits, you can’t be sporting any muffin top, so former Broadway baby Lea Michele takes to the elliptical, just like Rachel, to rock that petite frame.

Curves in all the right places

Finally the return of the curvaceous ‘modern’ vixen! Sofia Vergara has no problem showing the world that having hips and a bust is something to drool over. Her character in Modern Family may be eccentric, but in real life, Vergara takes a realist approach to staying fit: She busies herself with a personal trainer to keep her body looking its best.

Reality show babes

Britney SpearsRob EvansLindzi Cox

Oops, she did it again

Yes, we admit it too, we thought Britney peaked in the early 2000’s, but we’re pleasantly mistaken now that we see her big return as judge in this season’s X-Factor. Her dancer legs have made the perfect accessory to those short and sexy dresses she loves to wear. You can bet this mother of two trains and dances regularly to keep her legs looking svelte.

Top model

Don't know Rob Evans? Well it's time you tune in to the new season of America's Next Top Model. Billed as the world's top male supermodel, this new judge keeps the contestants sweatin' as he poses with them in photo shoots before ripping them on the runway. It's clear that this guy doesn't wile away his days when he's not shooting the show -- it takes serious gym time to get, and keep, a body like that!

Bootie-ful bachelorette

After "losing" to Courtney on Ben's season of The Bachelor, Lindzi Cox graced the small screen again to compete for cash (and love!) on Bachelor Pad. If you've watched the show, you know it revolves around pool time and cocktail parties, so staying trim is a must! Cox kept her body looking its best by hitting up classes at The Bar Method in Seattle between filmings. She may not have won the cash, but she did get a killer booty... and Kalon... if that's a prize to brag about.
