Turning a negative into a positive
I was never the sporty type until a few years ago when my boss insinuated I was getting fat. I got on the treadmill and never looked back. the rest just came about as I decided to branch out into other areas of fitness
Staying motivated and challenged
GirlsGoneSporty (GGS): What is your motivation for staying active?
Kymberly Swope (KS): My motivation is truly intrinsic. I do it because I just really love the feeling of being active.
GGS: What sports and fitness accomplishments are you most proud of?
KS: I am most proud of my half marathon because I finished it although I was injured and my full marathon because everyone told me I couldn't do it.
GGS: How do you keep challenging yourself to improve?
KS: I am continuously setting new goals for myself. Once I accomplish one, it's on to the next!
GGS: Are you currently training for a race or event? What's your workout schedule look like?
KS: I have my fourth 10k next month and my second half marathon in November.

KS: I don't carry a gym bag. The world is my gym.
Live the sporty life
GGS: What does the phrase “live the sporty life” mean to you?
KS: It means being active in whatever makes you happy as long as you're moving. Looking good while doing it is a plus!
