In full disclosure, over the months I have received a number of Phytomer skin care and beauty products from the company, but because I was introduced to the brand for free, I am now an avid paying customer. There isn't a product I've tried that I haven't loved, and because I've been fairly silent on the subject to this point, I figure it's time for a rundown of my top eight Phytomer skin care and beauty products.
OgénAge Toning Cleansing Emulsion
Generally I'm a face-wipes kind of gal. I like the ease of just grabbing a wipe and giving my face a wash-down without having to wait for the tap water to warm up. Basically I'm impatient and a little lazy, but that doesn't mean I don't want to wash my face. The instant I tried the OgenAge Toning Cleansing Emulsion product, I fell in love! It's a 3-in-1 facial cleanser that is almost as simple as using a face wipe. Just shake up the bottle, pour a little on a dry face pad, and run it over your skin. The product cleanses and removes makeup more efficiently than most face wipes and you don't have to worry about the added step of toning your skin.
Youth Contour Reviving Wrinkle Correction Cream Eye and Lip Care
Admittedly, I don't have a whole lot of wrinkles to contend with yet. At 30 years old, I can see the beginnings of wrinkles around my eyes and mouth, but nothing that most people would notice. That said, I want to keep those wrinkles at bay as long as I can! This cream is easy to apply, blends in nicely and doesn't feel sticky or heavy. You don't need to use much and it goes a long way.
Seaweed Soap
This soap feels amazing. The scent is gender-neutral, so it was perfect for both my husband and me; plus, the seaweed offers an exfoliating action that removes rough patches and adds moisture to the skin. It also lasts longer than expected, which is a nice change from most drugstore bar soaps.
OLIGOMER Pure Lyophilized Seawater Bath
I'm a beachy summer-girl, but living in the rainy, cold Pacific Northwest doesn't exactly lend itself to long ocean swims. OLIGOMER individual bath sachets provide all the benefits of an ocean swim in the comfort of your own bathtub. Basically, OLIGOMER is a sodium-reduced seawater concentrate that's exclusive to the Phytomer brand. OLIGOMER products contain all of the active components of seawater, including 104 trace elements that are beneficial to skin health. OLIGOMER is used in most of Phytomer's face and body products, and these sachets have been independently proven to fortify the epidermis and prevent cellular fatigue in a four-week clinical study.
While all of that's cool to know, the long-and-short of the matter is that this seawater bath just feels good! Plus, the individual sachets make perfect gifts for family and friends.
OLIGOMER Well-Being Remineralizing Relaxing Bath
Okay, so I like baths. And this one actually helps me pretend that I'm on a warm beach somewhere. It has a nice foaming froth, almost like the edges of a wave; plus, it smells like a beach! All you have to do is turn the water up hot, lay back in the tub and let the shower run lightly to give you the full experience of a summer beach trip. Seriously. This is what I do when it's cold and rainy here all the time and I'm afraid I can't take another minute of it!
OLIGOMER Drink Dietary Supplement
I'm a little bit picky when it comes to supplements, so I wasn't sure if I'd like the OLIGOMER Drink, but it surprised me! With trace minerals, marine calcium, marine magnesium and a hint of lemon flavor, there's really not much to shake a fist at. And, because I don't like overly sweet or fake-tasting drinks, the natural mineral and slightly salty flavor appealed to me, and the lemon helped turn regular-tasting water into something more gratifying. That said, I have to admit that my husband had a different opinion. He's much more inclined to like sweeter drinks, and he wasn't a fan of the flavor. To tone down the mineral taste, I tend to mix it with more water than the eight-ounces called for on the individual packets.
Sun Silhouette
By the time I was 26 years old, I'd already had skin cancer removed from my face. I chalk it up to long days lifeguarding in the Texas sun as a teenager... which isn't as much of a problem now that I live in Oregon. That said, I intimately understand the importance of sun protection and I'm always looking for easy options when it comes to SPF and UPF. After trying Sun Silhouette, I fell in love! Even though it only has SPF 15, the iridescent glimmer and sweet scent make it more appealing than traditional sunscreens, especially for everyday wear when greater protection isn't required.
Sun Soother After-Sun Milk Face & Body
After a long day in the sun, you know your skin can feel parched! That's where Sun Soother comes in. This moisturizer is perfect for full-body application and will leave your skin feeling rejuvenated, silky and smooth.
Product I'm trying now: Silhouette Expert Dietary Supplement
Like I said, I'm a little wary when it comes to supplements, especially those that claim to speed weight loss, but I'm cautiously optimistic about this one. I'm not looking to lose weight, but I've been ramping up my workout routine and cleaning up my diet to add muscle and lean out a little more. I don't believe in taking synthetic supplements whose properties aren't well known, but I'm not opposed to trying all-natural options as an aid to a healthy diet and workout plan. These capsules have no synthetic additives (a huge benefit, in my mind) and contain decaffeinated green tea extract, green coffee extract and brown seaweed extract, all of which have shown promising results when it comes to aiding fat loss. In a double-blind, 60-day study of overweight participants, those who took this supplement lost more than 5-percent of their body weight. I've only been taking the capsules for the last three days, and while I can't speak to any trimming or slimming affects so far, I can say that they don't leave me feeling jittery or "weird" after taking them, like some synthetic products do. Either way, I feel like if they help, they help, and if they don't, I still don't feel worried about whether they might have any negative side affects.
