At Girls Gone Sporty we recognize that athleticism and competition don't always come cheap! Between race fees, travel expenses, training and gear, living the sporty life comes at a cost. While the reward is priceless, real life isn't a Mastercard commercial, and sometimes those fees just aren't feasible. That's why we want to live up to what's written on our About Page:
"The sporty woman says, 'I can do anything I put my mind to, I just need the resources to do it.' That’s where Girls Gone Sporty comes in."
We want to provide sporty women with the financial resources to achieve their goals and dreams. That's why we developed our grant program. Some of these grants will be funded directly by Girls Gone Sporty, while other grants will be funded with the support of companies we love. Either way, we'll be providing at least one grant each month to a well-deserving sporty woman starting in November 2012.

It depends on the grant. Some grants will be funded up to a certain dollar amount. For instance, we might offer a $100 Race Grant specifically pinpointed to cover racing fees up to $100. In other cases, we might offer open-ended grants that will vary in amount based on the funds needed, the project in question and the level of funds available.
Again, this depends on the grant. The GGS Sporty Girl Grant will be open to cover the costs of any fitness-, health- or sports-related request. Whether that's the cost of a personal training certification, a yoga retreat, marathon travel expenses or the cost of starting a triathlon club for kids, it's all game. That said, as we start working with companies, we recognize that certain companies will be more inclined to want to fund certain types of opportunities. Details on company grants will be published with the grant opportunities, so make sure you read them carefully before submitting your grant request.
Again, this depends on the grant. After you're notified that your grant request has been accepted, we'll send you paperwork for you to fill out. In most cases we will simply need evidence that you're using the funds for what was requested. And, we'd love for you to share your experience with others!
In most cases you will receive grant funds within 30 days of having your grant accepted.
